Students have countless opportunities to get involved with FFA and we encourage them to take advantage of that. For any new FFA member or parent, it may seem a bit overwhelming, but I assure you that you'll get the hang of it in no time. CDEs and LDES - Members can compete in Career Development Events (CDEs) and Leadership Development Events (LDEs), which challenge them to apply what they’ve learned in agriculture, leadership, and communication. Whether it’s ag sales, ag mechanics, vet science, or public speaking, there’s something for every interest and every background. These contests help students get real-world ready while having a whole lot of fun doing it. Kalispell FFA offers the following CDE and LDE events:

SAE - Supervised Agricultural Experience, is a hands-on project where students apply what they’ve learned in class through real-world work in agriculture. Whether it’s raising animals, working a job, or launching an ag-related business, every SAE helps students build skills and explore career interests.

Official Dress is what members wear to represent FFA at events, competitions, and ceremonies. It shows unity, pride, and professionalism.

Quick Tips

Always keep your jacket zipped all the way up.
Wear no more than three pins on your jacket (highest degree, highest office, highest award).
Treat the jacket with respect—it’s a symbol of pride and tradition.
Hair spray or clear nail polish can stop a run in your nylons.
A white chalk stick works helps get stains out of your white collared shirt.
Dress the part -- look professional!
