The National FFA Organization is a youth leadership organization that prepares students for success through agricultural education. With roots in farming and a future focused on innovation, FFA helps members grow as leaders, build confidence, and develop real-world skills through hands-on learning, classroom instruction, and community involvement. Whether you’re interested in animals, plants, mechanics, business, or science, FFA offers a place to explore your interests and turn them into a future career.
This mission began in 1928 when 33 students from 18 states met at the Baltimore Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri, to establish a national organization for students interested in agriculture. Inspired by successful state-level groups like the Virginia Future Farmers, these founders created a unified platform to strengthen agricultural education and leadership opportunities. Their vision sparked what would grow into one of the largest youth organizations in the nation, dedicated to empowering students and shaping the future of agriculture.
FFA New Horizons is a fun, student-focused magazine that highlights the awesome things FFA members are doing across the country — from inspiring agriculture careers to leadership spotlights and hands-on success stories. It's a great place for students and parents to explore what’s possible through FFA and stay inspired by the future of agriculture!
AgExplorer is an interactive website that helps students discover the wide variety of careers in agriculture, from animal science to ag technology and beyond. It’s a fun, hands-on tool for exploring your interests and finding ag careers that match your passions.
FFA also opens the door to countless opportunities, from competing in Career and Leadership Development Events (CDEs and LDEs) to traveling, attending conferences, earning scholarships, and making lifelong friends. Members can run for leadership roles, start Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects, and connect with mentors and industry leaders. No matter your background or future goals, FFA helps you discover your potential and become the kind of leader who makes a difference.
